JEFFERSON PARISH PMZ TO REINSTITUTE SIGNAGE RESTRICTIONS RELAXED DUE TO COVID, EFFECTIVE ON JUNE 7, 2021

Effective Monday, June 7, 2021, the Jefferson Parish Department of Property Maintenance Zoning & Quality of Life (PMZ) will begin enforcing the ordinance relative to no placement of signage advertising on public rights of way.

ROAD CLOSURE: WEST ESPLANADE AVENUE

Starting Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily, the southside lane of eastbound W. Esplanade Ave. will be closed.

ROAD CLOSURE: VETERANS MEMORIAL BOULEVARD & BONNABEL BOULEVARD

Starting Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., one left lane on Veterans Blvd. in both directions and one left lane on Bonnabel Blvd. in both directions will be closed on a continuous basis.

JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOLD HURRICANE PREP PRESS CONFERENCE ON TUESDAY, MAY 25, 2021 AT THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER

Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng will join other Parish officials for a press conference on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 ahead of the start of the 2021 Hurricane Season.

Jefferson Parish Government has launched a new Bike Map to show completed and proposed bicycling infrastructure projects that improve the Parish’s economy and quality of life.

JEFFERSON PARISH PARTNERS WITH THE BLOOD CENTER TO HOST BLOOD DRIVES AT JPRD PLAYGROUNDS

Jefferson Parish, in partnership with The Blood Center, will be hosting blood drives at specific playgrounds on the East Bank and West Bank due to blood shortages both locally and nationwide.

JEFFERSON PARISH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH IRON MOUNTAIN HOSTS PAPER SHREDDING EVENT

The Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs, in partnership with Iron Mountain, will host a paper shredding event on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

ROAD CLOSURE: TERRY PARKWAY & HECTOR AVENUE

Starting Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 6:00 a.m., the right northbound lane at 127 Terry Pkwy., and the right westbound lane of Hector Ave., will be closed on a continuous basis.

MASK MANDATE LIFTED FOR ENTRY INTO JEFFERSON PARISH GENERAL GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

Consistent with Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards’ new order in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), and recent CDC guidelines, the mask mandate to enter Jefferson Parish General Government Buildings will be lifted for those who are fully vaccinated.

ROAD CLOSURE: WEST ESPLANADE AVENUE

Starting Monday, May 17, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., the left eastbound lane of W. Esplanade Ave. at Cleary Ave. will be closed on a continuous basis.
