LANE CLOSURES: WEST ESPLANADE AVENUE

Starting Friday, March 26, 2021, at 9:00 p.m., the left westbound lane of W. Esplanade Ave. at 3616 N. Causeway Blvd and one of the north to west left turn lanes will be closed on a continuous basis.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE W. NAPOLEON AVENUE

The eastbound lanes of W. Napoleon Avenue, between Clearview Parkway and Transcontinental Drive, are completely closed until further notice due to heavy rains which caused high pressures in the 66-inch regional force main that was temporarily patched while awaiting the necessary permanent repair components.

JEFFERSON PARISH PREPARES FOR HEAVY RAIN

According to the National Weather Service, periods of heavy rainfall could occur through Thursday evening, with rainfall totals of 5 to 8 inches. Isolated severe storms with damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and hail are also possible all day today through Thursday.

ALARIO CENTER COVID-19 TESTING SUSPENDED DUE TO WEATHER

The Alario Center COVID-19 testing site will suspend operations tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 – Thursday, March 25, 2021, due to the anticipated inclement weather.

The Jefferson Parish Meal Assistance program has provided nearly 40,000 meals to date and will continue to accept new applications until tomorrow, Friday, March 18, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. CST.
