JEFFERSON PARISH PREPARES FOR SEVERE WEATHER
Due to the anticipated inclement weather, Terrytown Playground (641 Heritage Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056) will open at 9:30 p.m. today, Thursday, May 16, 2024 for residents in mobile homes in need of sturdy shelter.
LANE CLOSURES: HICKORY AVENUE
There will be daily alternating lane closures on Hickory Avenue from Dufrene Street to the dead-end north of Sauve Road from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, May 20, 2024.
JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COLLECTION EVENT ON SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 2024 AT THE ALARIO CENTER
The Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs, in partnership with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office LASER Division and Legacy Environmental, will be hosting a Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) event on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in the parking lot of the John. A Alario Sr. Event Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
LANE CLOSURE: NORTHBOUND AMES BOULEVARD
The right lane of northbound Ames Boulevard between Jordan Drive and Lapalco Boulevard will be closed continuously starting tomorrow (Thursday, May 16, 2024) at 7 a.m.
LANE CLOSURE: WESTBOUND LAPALCO BOULEVARD
The southernmost lane of westbound Lapalco Boulevard between Fairfield Avenue and Phillip Drive will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting tomorrow (Wednesday, May 15, 2024). Motorists will use the available lane.
JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST SECOND PUBLIC OUTREACH MEETING FOR MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE
The Jefferson Parish Department of Floodplain Management & Hazard Mitigation will be hosting its second public outreach meeting regarding the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the River Ridge Library (8825 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge, LA 70123).
