JEFFERSON PARISH UPDATES PERMITTING WEBSITE

New interface to the permitting website designed to help users better navigate the application process

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting Monday, May 13, 2024, users of Jefferson Parish’s permitting website will see a new user interface. Please note, this is not a new permitting system, only a new interface to the website; existing users of the parish permit website will continue to use their same username and password for the website.

The new user interface provides easier ability to apply for: parish building permits and trades filings; planning and zoning applications; special event and seasonal permits such as garage sales and food trucks; and hotel/motel, short term rental, and massage establishment licenses.

The menu at the top of the screen provides services for all jurisdictions using the MGO Connect website, including a Help link with resources for creating a new user account, applying, viewing an application, completing online payments, and other tasks related to managing a customer’s application. The menu also offers a link for Support, which provides contacts for technical support of any issues using the website.

The left side of the screen features buttons which allow users to narrow down the type of application they are submitting to Jefferson Parish. The new interface breaks the application itself into easy to follow sections and shows the user where they are in the process of completing an application. The new Project list page, available from the menu at the top of the screen, provides an at-a-glance status of all applications associated with the user account.

To view the new Jefferson Parish interface to the current MyGovernmentOnline or MyPermitNow (MPN) permitting website, visit mgoconnect.org. Links to the online permitting system from the Jefferson Parish website are updated to direct users to the new website, including a direct link on the homepage of www.JeffParish.net. Users can also download a mobile app by searching for “MGO Connect” and installing the app. Users will then select Jefferson Parish as their jurisdiction to submit applications.
