ISLAND STRONG BEACH FEST MOVED TO TARPON RODEO PAVILION

The Island Strong Beach Fest will take place as scheduled this Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16, 2022, but has been relocated to the Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion at 4500 Highway 1 in Grand Isle due to predicted weather. 

ROAD CLOSURES: RIVERSIDE DRIVE AND POWERLINE DRIVE

Starting at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 the southbound lane of Powerline Dr., between Jefferson Hwy. and Riverside Dr., will be closed until Saturday, July 16, 2022, weather permitting.

JEFFERSON PARISH OFFICES CLOSED ON MON. JULY 4 IN OBSERVANCE OF INDEPENDENCE HOLIDAY

All Jefferson Parish offices, including all Jefferson Parish libraries and JPAWS, will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022 in observance of the Independence holiday. All JPRD summer camps, classes and programs (not including Lafreniere Park or Parc des Familles) will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022 and will resume on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

POETRY EVENT! POETS WILL READ FROM NEW ANTHOLOGY DEDICATED TO THE MEMORAY OF LEE GRUE

The contributors to a new anthology of poetry, Hearths III, will read from the chapbook at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Old Metairie Library, 2350 Metairie Road.

Today, Jefferson Parish recognized the 2021 – 2022 Employees of the Year with a special video presentation displayed at the council meeting.

JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES ON THURSDAY, JUNE 30, 2022

Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Thursday, June, 30, 2022, over parts of Metairie, weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE: WEST NAPOLEON AVENUE

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, the left westbound lane of W. Napoleon Ave. at Cleary Ave. will be closed.

FILMING TO TAKE PLACE ON DESTREHAN AVE.

On Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Less Lethal, Inc. will be filming a feature length film, Rebel Ridge, in part of Estelle and Woodmere from approximately 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE: WEST ESPLANADE AVENUE AND TRANSCONTINENTAL DRIVE

On Friday, June 24, 2022, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., two southbound lanes of Transcontinental Dr. between W. Esplanade Ave. will be closed one at a time, and one eastbound lane and the westbound turn lane of W. Esplanade Ave. near Transcontinental Dr. will be closed. Motorists will use the available lane for travel.
