U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT CLIMATE COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ROUNDTABLE TO TAKE PLACE IN JEFFERSON PARISH ON FRIDAY, JULY 21, 2023

Jefferson Parish, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP)will host the HUD Louisiana Climate Community Resilience Roundtable on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST FREE TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR ELEVATION CERTIFICATES DUE TO REVISED REQUIREMENTS BY FEMA

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued revised requirements for Elevation Certificate forms and Dry Floodproofing Certificate forms, and in accordance with FEMA policy, the new forms are required to be used moving forward.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE: LAPALCO BOULEVARD AT FAIRFIELD AVENUE

Starting tomorrow (Wednesday, July 12, 2023) at 7 a.m., one eastbound lane of Lapalco Boulevard at Fairfield Avenue will be closed continuously.

ROAD CLOSURE: MARTIN BEHRMAN AVENUE AT VETERANS BOULEVARD

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, the north and southbound lanes of Martin Behrman Ave. at Veterans Blvd., as well as the westbound to northbound turn lane from Veterans Blvd. to Martin Behrman Ave. will be closed.

NASA Ambassador John Martinez will give a presentation titled “What’s New on Planet Mars?” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie.

JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOS ON SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023

Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Saturday, July 1, 2023, over parts of Metairie, weather permitting.

Due to the absence of a number of council members, the Jefferson Parish Council Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the General Government Building, 2nd floor Council Chambers (200 Derbigny St., Gretna, LA 70053) has been cancelled.
