Jefferson Parish is actively monitoring the risk of a blast of arctic air that is forecast to move over the area next week.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force, Inc. of Jefferson Parish, along with Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee of District 3, will host a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade and Living The Dream 2024 Banquet on Monday, January 15, 2024.
ROAD CLOSURE: EDWARDS AVENUE AND MOUNES STREET
Starting Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the right lane of northbound Edwards Avenue and the right lane of eastbound Mounes Street will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Starting Friday, January 12, 2024, one lane of eastbound River Road between Plantation Road and Laitram Lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Starting Friday, January 12, 2024, the westbound lane of Riverside Drive between Ren Pass Avenue and Crislaur Avenue will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES IN UNINCORPORATED JEFFERSON PARISH, LAFITTE REMINDED ABOUT CHANGES TO CURBSIDE GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION
As a reminder, changes to garbage and recycling collection for residents and businesses in unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte took effect January 1, 2024 as the parish transitions to new service providers.
