ELECTION DAY IS TOMORROW, AUGUST 15, 2020
Residents of Jefferson Parish are encouraged to go to the polls tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, 2020 to cast their vote on the proposed sale of East Jefferson General Hospital to LCMC Health, the renewal of the East Bank Consolidated Fire Department Millage and the renewal of the Solid Waste Disposal Millage.
FREE MOBILE COVID-19 TESTING IN GRAND ISLE
On Friday, August 14, 2020, there will be free mobile COVID-19 testing in Grand Isle at the Grand Isle Community Center, 3811 Highway 1, Grand Isle 70358 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.*

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Jefferson Parish recognized the 2019 – 2020 Employees of the Year with a special video presentation displayed at the council meeting.

Jefferson Parish, in partnership with The Blood Center, will be hosting blood drives at specific playgrounds throughout Jefferson Parish.
WASTE CONNECTIONS PARTNERS WITH RIVER BIRCH RENEWABLE ENERGY TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL GARBAGE COLLECTION RESOURCES TO JEFFERSON PARISH RESIDENTS
Waste Connections' new subcontractor, River Birch Renewable Energy, will hit the streets on Monday, August 10, 2020, providing additional resources to aid with trash pickup. River Birch Renewable Energy will phase in 30 new trucks and additional manpower over the next month to help make sure all Jefferson Parish residents receive enhanced service and regular trash collection. The subcontractor will provide assistance throughout the west bank of Jefferson Parish, which should free up additional resources for other areas of Jefferson Parish as well.

Jefferson Parish, in partnership with Ochsner Health, has announced additional days for COVID-19 mobile testing throughout the Parish.
AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES
Aerial spraying in response to mosquito activity is scheduled to take place on the east and west banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Saturday, August 8, 2020, over parts of Metairie, Jefferson, Terrytown, Gretna, Lafitte/Barataria, Marrero, Harahan and Westwego weather conditions permitting.

Starting Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 9:00 p.m., two westbound lanes of Veterans Blvd. at Severn Ave. will be closed nightly until 6:00 a.m.
