JEFFERSON PARISH TRANSIT LAUNCHES LIFELINE BUS SERVICE

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, Jefferson Parish Transit is launching a fare free bus service on limited routes to help residents get access to essential resources such as grocery stores, ice, water and shelters.

1,000 HOT MEALS AVAILABLE TONIGHT AT 6PM AT LAFRENIERE PARK

Councilman from District 4, Dominick Impastato has partnered with Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Red Cross to provide 1,000 hot meals for drive-thru pick up tonight at Lafreniere Park – 3000 Downs Blvd. Metairie, LA 70003, starting at 6:00 p.m.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED FOR THE WEST BANK OF JEFFERSON PARISH

In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, the Jefferson Parish Water Department is lifting the Boil Water Advisory for the West Bank of Jefferson Parish excluding Grand Isle based on the restoration of pressure within the distribution system and the analysis of the bacteriological samples collected within the distribution system.

STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION IN JEFFERSON PARISH

Storm debris contractors began collecting residential roadside debris on Monday, September 6th.

HELEN COX POD DISTRIBUTION SITE TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The point of distribution site located at Helen Cox High School, 2200 Lapalco Blvd, Harvey 70058, has been temporarily closed to allow Entergy trucks to do restoration work on the lines in the area.

PARD PLAYGROUND SHELTER MOVES TO KINGS GRANT

All Jefferson Parish residents in need of shelter due to Hurricane Ida should go to Kings Grant Playground, located at 3805 15th St. Harvey LA 70058.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF UNINCORPORATED JEFFERSON PARISH AND THE TOWN OF JEAN LAFITTE:

Curbside garbage collection is scheduled to resume on Monday, September 6th. Due to the impacts of Hurricane Ida in the area, collection will be limited to material placed in Parish issued tipper carts.
