The Jefferson Parish Department of Property Maintenance Zoning Quality of Life will conduct a sweep within the geographical boundaries of Council District 1 on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish on Thursday, December 19, 2019, in an effort to address property violations for quality of life enforcement.

NO GARBAGE COLLECTION ON NEW YEAR’S DAY, JANUARY 1, 2019

There will be NO CURBSIDE GARBAGE COLLECTION on Wednesday, January 4, 2020, New Year’s Day.  There is no make-up day for the missed collection; the next garbage picked-up is on Saturday, January 4, 2020.

New shelter hours hope to increase adoptions

Jefferson, LA – Effective Friday December 13, 2019, the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelters will assume new hours in hopes of increasing adoptions.

The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development has been awarded $2.9 million dollars in federal funds to conduct lead hazard reduction activities in the homes of Low to Moderate Income families in Jefferson Parish.
