JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Council, in partnership with Second Harvest and Jefferson Council on Aging, will expand the “Meals on Wheels” program to accommodate feeding approximately 500 seniors who are currently on the waiting list to receive food assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic in our community.

CURBSIDE RECYCLING AND RECYCLING COLLECTION AT BOTH THE DAVID DR. AND LAPALCO DROP-OFF SITES SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19

JEFFERSON, LA – Curbside recycling in Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte, and recycling collection at the David Drive and Lapalco drop-off-sites, has been suspended in an effort to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

24th JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT CLOSURE EXTENDED TO MAY 4TH

JEFFERSON, LA – Acting in accordance with Louisiana Constitution Article V, Section 1; due to the COVID-19 emergency as detailed in Governor John Bel Edwards’s Declarations of Public Health Emergency, Jefferson Parish Cynthia Lee Sheng’s Declaration of State of Emergency, and the Louisiana Supreme Court’s Orders; the period of closure for the 24th Judicial District Court is extended until 8:00 a.m., on Monday, May 4, 2020.
