USCIS TO HOST FREE SEMINAR AT EAST BANK REGIONAL LIBRARY ABOUT CREATING ADULT CITIZENSHIP PROGRAMS
JEFFERSON, LA – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will host a free all-day seminar titled “Building and Maintaining a Comprehensive Adult Citizenship Education Program” from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie.
Participants must register for this event through the online registration portal at www.uscis.gov/teachertrainingregistration.
The session will focus on
- The naturalization process and eligibility requirements.
- Overview of the naturalization test.
- Instructional strategies and resources for citizenship classes.
- Naturalization test redesign trial test.
Participants will have the opportunity to connect with USCIS representatives and local community-based organizations.
Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is required and will close 24 hours before the event begins or once the seminar is full. Those who are interested should email office.of.citizenship@uscis.dhs.gov with any questions or concerns about registration, or to request sign language accommodation.
