ROAD CLOSURE
BISSONET DRIVE BRIDGE AND WESTBOUND VETERANS BOULEVARD

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting Monday, February 26, 2024 at 7 a.m., the Bissonet Drive Bridge at West Canal Avenue and westbound Veterans Boulevard will be closed continuously. The right lane of westbound Veterans Boulevard will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Motorists trying to access Veterans Boulevard should detour east on Kawanee Avenue, south on Transcontinental Drive and return to Veterans. Motorists on Veterans Boulevard wanting to cross the Bissonet Bridge should detour north on Transcontinental Drive to westbound Kawanee Avenue to reach their destination.

The closure is necessary to reinforce and repair the approaches to the bridge at a cost of $700,000. Work is scheduled to be completed by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, weather permitting.
