PIANIST SALVADORE LIBERTO TO PERFORM AT EAST BANK REGIONAL LIBRARY ON MARCH 1
JEFFERSON, LA – Pianist Salvadore Liberto will perform at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Avenue, Metairie.
Liberto, a New Orleans native, has been writing, recording, and performing original music for 30 years. He has released four studio albums and has played at many performing arts centers, theaters, coffeehouses, and colleges across the United States. He says his repertoire consists of “bluesy pieces, rich ballads and everything in between.” He will perform some of Elton John’s hits.
Liberto’s March 1 concert marks his third performance at the East Bank Regional Library.
He has also performed at the Mint in New Orleans, the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas, and the Mary C O'Keefe Hall in Ocean Springs.
From Grammy-winning producer John Snyder: “In this group of songs there are melodies that you will not be able to forget, feelings that will not wash off or dissipate. This is not because they are easy and logical and simple but because of their effect, their hopefulness, their uplift. Let them lift you, let them neutralize your cynicism, let them lighten your load and diminish your doubt, let them remind you that love is abundant in this world and we are never far from it.”
From Lawrence F. Specker, Mobile Press-Register: “There’s often a fine line between entertainment and inspiration. Sal Liberto isn’t shy about his ambition to straddle it.”
From Jan Bixler, Administrator, Unity Church Gulfport: “When I asked Sal to come to Unity Church of Gulfport to address our congregation, I had a general idea of what his message and music would be about. What I didn’t know was that his heartfelt belief system would mirror ours at our non-denominational church here on the Gulf Coast. His message was timeless and inspired. And then there is his music! Sal’s musical style, great piano playing, and wonderful lyrics are an absolute joy. We can’t wait for his return to offer a spiritual message and entertain in his fresh and delightful style.”
From folk singer Livingston Taylor: “Sal is a nightmarish act to follow.”
