FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS OF UNINCORPORATED
JEFFERSON PARISH AND THE TOWN OF JEAN LAFITTE:
HOTLINE AVAILABLE FOR HURRICANE ZETA STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL
JEFFERSON, LA – Residents in unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte can now call the “Hurricane Zeta Storm Debris Hotline” to obtain information about debris removal. The following toll-free number will be in operation starting Friday, November 6, 2020: 1-888-721-4372.
The Parish’s storm debris monitoring and removal contractors will operate the line and answer questions on debris removal activities. Daily hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., seven days per week, until further notice.
This debris hotline is for storm related debris only and is intended to help identify areas that might need collection. Residents are reminded that regular household garbage collection is being handled by the parish’s regular waste hauler and should be placed in the parish issued tipper cart for collection. Bagged waste must not be placed with storm debris as it will be collected separately.
Parish storm debris contractors cannot pick up storm related debris from businesses or institutions as these entities are considered commercial establishments and not eligible for debris pick-up support under the current regulatory guidelines.
