LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO PARTNER WITH COUNCILMAN BYRON LEE FOR
A SPRING HEALTH FAIR AT PARISH HEALTH UNIT IN MARRERO ON SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2024
JEFFERSON, LA – The Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health Region 1 (Orleans Metro Area) will host Spring Into Health, a health and community resource fair on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Parish Health Unit in Marrero located at 1855 Ames Blvd. This event is in partnership with Jefferson Parish District 3 Councilman Byron Lee.
“We are pleased to partner with the Louisiana Department of Health to host this free health fair in Jefferson Parish,” said Councilman Lee. “Residents of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend to receive many critical health resources, entertainment and lunch.”
The Spring Into Health event is open to the public and will include more than 20 organizations offering various services and resources. Services offered at the health fair will include health screenings; immunizations; nutrition education; Narcan and opioid prevention education; information on Medicaid renewals and health insurance marketplace coverage; lead safety; food boxes; sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing; and many other resources. Additionally, participants can enjoy kid’s activities, a free bagged lunch and music by DJ Polo.
The event is free to attend, with free lunches available while supplies last.
