LANE CLOSURE

CENTRAL AVENUE

JEFFERSON, LA - Starting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the northbound lane of Central Ave. between Karen Ave. and Airline Hwy. will be closed.

Detour directions are as follows:

• Motorist planning to travel northbound on Central Ave. to Airline Hwy. will be detoured at Jefferson Hwy. towards Clearview Pkwy., and head north to Airline Hwy.
• Motorist planning to access Central Ave., north of Karen Ave., will be detoured at Jefferson Hwy. to Clearview Pkwy., head north to Airline Hwy and will take a right on Airline Hwy. to reach southbound Central Ave.

The closure is necessary for installation of a new 12 inch water main, subsurface drainage improvements and roadway widening at an estimated cost of $3,058,369.35. Work is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. weather permitting.
