JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING
FOR MOSQUITOES ON EVENING OF SATURDAY, OCT. 21, 2023

JEFFERSON, LA – Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Saturday, October 21, 2023, over portions of Kenner and Lafitte/Barataria.

Low-level aerial spraying will take place from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. If weather conditions force the cancellation of the scheduled flights, aerial spraying will take place on the first subsequent evening on which weather conditions permit.

AREA #1: Kenner
North to Lake Pontchartrain; South to Mississippi River; East to Roosevelt Ave. (excludes MSY Airport); West to St. Charles Parish Line

AREA #2: Lafitte/Barataria/Crown Point

  • North to Fleming Curve near Palmetto St.; South to end of Jean Lafitte near Kenal Road/Orange Ave.; East to Marsh; West to Marsh
  • All of the town of Crown Point extending into the wooded area surrounding the town
  • North to north of Barataria Blvd.; South of Jean Lafitte Blvd.; West of Leo Kerner Parkway; East of Sharpe Rd.
