JEFFERSON PARISH OFFICES CLOSED ON MONDAY,
SEPTEMBER 4, 2023 IN OBSERVANCE OF LABOR DAY
No garbage collection on Monday, Sep. 4; curbside recycling will take place as scheduled
JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish Government offices, including Jefferson Parish Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS) and the East and West Jefferson American Job Centers, will be closed on Monday, Sep. 4, 2023, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
LIBRARY
All Jefferson Parish libraries, except for the East Bank Regional and West Bank Regional libraries, will be closed on Monday, Sep 4. The East Bank Regional and West Bank Regional libraries will remain open on Monday, Sep. 4 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., however, there will be no programming at these locations. Residents are welcome to utilize these libraries for regular services or to stay cool during the heat.
GARBAGE AND RECYCLING
There will be no curbside garbage collection on Monday, Sep. 4, for residents of Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte. There will be no make-up day for the missed garbage collection on Labor Day; the next collection for those scheduled to have garbage picked-up on Mondays, will be Thursday, Sep. 7, 2023. The Jefferson Parish Landfill will be closed on Monday, Sep. 4, and will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, Sep. 5, 2023. Curbside recycling will take place as scheduled. JPRD
All Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation (JPRD) classes and programs (not including Lafreniere Park and Parc des Familles) will be closed on Monday, Sep. 4 and will resume operations on Tuesday, Sep. 5. To stay updated on all JPRD facilities, including any additional playground closures for the holiday, visit www.JPRD.com.
TRANSIT
Jefferson Parish Transit will be running a Saturday service on Monday, Sep. 4 and will resume normal schedule on Tuesday, Sep. 5. To check service by route, visit the maps and schedules section of the Jefferson Parish Transit website.
