JEFFERSON PARISH PAIRS WITH SOFAB TO CREATE A NEW LEVEL OF PROGRAMMING
JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Library will sponsor food demonstrations once a month at both the East Bank Regional and West Bank Regional facilities.
The first food demonstration at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, occurs at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11. The first food demonstration at the West Bank Regional Library, occurs at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Each of the demonstrations will be led by Liz Williams, president and founder of the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. She will teach participants how to make a Creole favorite – pasta sauce with squash.
Other food demonstrations will focus on the significant culinary history of New Orleans and Louisiana, specifically the Creole and Cajun traditions, as well as French cuisine. They can highlight the healthy choices available in local stores or market stalls. They can also promote new and seasonal produce.
Patrons will be allowed to sample the dishes that are prepared during the demonstration. However, these demonstrations are not intended to serve as meals for those in the audience. Food will not be sold.

The Jefferson Parish Library system consists of 16 locations that stretch from the Lakeshore Branch on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain to the Grand Isle Branch just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico.
