JEFFERSON PARISH HOSTS CSBG CARES EMERGENCY MORTGAGE
ASSISTANCE OUTREACH EVENTS FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY COVID-19
JEFFERSON, LA - The Jefferson Community Action Programs Department (JeffCAP) will be hosting two CSBG Cares Emergency Mortgage Assistance outreach events for those affected by COVID-19. This program will assist with past, current and future mortgage payments (not to exceed six months).
The first event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Dorothy B. Watson Community Center (1300 S. Myrtle St., Metairie, LA 70003). The second event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Marrero Community Center (1861 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072).
See below for a list of required documentation needed to process applications:
- Current Louisiana Driver’s License, Louisiana State Picture I.D. or Passport for ALL household members over 18 years
- Social Security Cards for all household members
- Mortgage Statement (showing past due balance)
- Current bills for active utility accounts for electricity, gas and/or water
- Proof of COVID-19 related impact:
- Unemployed/furloughed due to COVID-19
- Reduction in hours due to COVID-19
- Applicant/household member had COVID-19
- Medical bills due to COVID-19
- COVID-19 school closure forced applicant/household member to stop working
- Proof of income for ALL household members. Income may consist of one or more of the following:
- Four (4) recent consecutive check stubs containing year-to-date (YTD) information
- W-2s for 2019 and 2020
- Current copies of unemployment benefits, workers compensation benefits, alimony, railroad retirement, veterans’ benefits, or etc.
- Copies of tax returns with all schedules for 2019 and 2020 for self-employed
- Current social security and/or SSI Award Letters (2022 ALL PAGES)
- Current private pensions or government employee pensions (must show gross amount)
- Zero income form for anyone 18 years and older in household without income
Please note, this outreach event is open only to Jefferson Parish residents and has a limited amount of space. Please have ALL documentation on hand or your application will not be processed.
