RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY TO CELEBRATE THE UPGRADES TO LAFRENIERE PARK
METAIRIE, LA – Today, Councilman Dominick F. Impastato, III and Jefferson Parish officials hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of upgrades and renovations to Lafreniere Park, with a cost of $1,399,271. The upgrades help make Lafreniere Park more ADA compliant, ensuring the park is available for all residents to enjoy.
“We are honored to be able to provide these much needed upgrades throughout Lafreniere Park,” said Councilman Dominick Impastato, III. “The renovations will provide long-term benefits for all Jefferson Parish residents to enjoy.”
The playground upgrades included new ADA compliant parking spots, ramps and landings were installed throughout Lafreniere Park. All four restroom buildings received upgrades including ADA modifications, new toilet partitions, light fixtures, flooring and baby changing stations. In addition, the park office and the Robert “Bob” Deviney Foundation Center received upgraded entrances and parking.
The ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Boulevard in Metairie. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the full ceremony.
