FINAL DEBRIS PASS FOR RESIDENTS IN UNINCORPORATED JEFFERSON PARISH
All should place debris on curb by Monday, Nov. 29, 2021
JEFFERSON, LA – FEMA’s residential hurricane debris pick-up program will begin its final pass in the unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish later this month. The final pass will run through December 20, 2021.
Property owners are encouraged to have all residential debris to the curb by Monday, November 29, 2021.
Debris removal monitors and contractors will be inspecting each Parish roadway before considering the pass complete to ensure that all eligible debris is collected.
To expedite this process, residents are asked to sort debris when placing it curbside by creating separate piles for vegetative debris, construction debris and bagged household waste.
Since debris removal began in early September, contractors have picked up more than 1,375,000 million cubic yards of debris.
Residents with debris questions or those who need to report any missed debris can call the Department of Environmental Affairs at (504) 731-4612.
