JEFFERSON PARISH, LOUISIANA
October 8, 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CURBSIDE GARBAGE, RECYCLING AND BULK WASTE COLLECTION
TO BE SUSPENDED AT 3:00 PM TOMORROW
JEFFERSON, LA – Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Delta, the River Birch Landfill will close at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2020. Therefore, Waste Connections will suspend all garbage, recycling and bulk waste collection after 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
Residents that do not receive service by 3:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2020, are encouraged to remove their cans and bins from the curb and secure all loose items that could impede the flow of water to storm drains. Every reasonable effort will be made to pick up on the customer’s next scheduled collection day.
Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Delta, all four Jefferson Parish Trash Drop-Off sites will also be closing at 3:00 pm on Friday.
Curbside trash collection for Saturday’s routes will take place, as scheduled, assuming weather conditions allow.
Any additional changes and updates to curbside collection during the approach of Hurricane Delta will be announced on www.JeffParish.net. Residents can also receive regular updates by following the Parish on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@JeffParishGov) or by texting JPALERT or JPNOTICIAS to 888-777.
